The site is still in it’s relative infancy, having been established by Kate and Ian Simpson (both managers within blue chip retail businesses until our bundle of joy (whirlwind) called Emma arrived on the scene.

As new parents, we found that we needed as much help and support as we could get and time became super precious (busy careers are no match for a new baby – take our word for it!). There are information and support groups around, but the information is very patchy – hence parentsrecommend.com.

One major difference with the site is the recommended status of advertisers. No one can advertise unless they have already been recommended. So parents have the peace of mind that they can use a café, a plumber or a garage, in the peace of mind that they will have a good experience (when you have a baby there is no time for a second plumber to come along and scratch their head at why your heating is making a huge banging noise – our real experience)!
